AMVETS Veteran Members

Welcome to your new page for the
Veteran Members of AMVETS Post 176, Richfield, Ohio!

We will update this page once the new officers for 2022 – 2023, have been sworn-in on the evening of July 12, 2022.

A Word from the Commander,
David R. Mruk 2020 – 2021:

Hello, Everyone!

As your new commander I want to say that I hope every one of our AMVETS Family members has made it through these long months dealing with COVID19 and become stronger and more resilient. During these frustrating times, our Post and those individuals supporting our Post have risen to the occasion. We have had successful in-dining and to-go dinners and our Canteen is beginning to bounce back to life. A grateful thank you to those who have offered their time in the kitchen with preparation and serving our members and families. One of my goals is to reach out to the younger veterans in the community and get them involved with the post, I feel many young veterans do not know about the AMVETS and the services and benefits it offers. AMVETS Posts are run by the membership (you). When you attend monthly membership meetings, you have a voice and vote. Your involvement and vote will determine how effective and transparent we are as a post. Please do not hesitate to offer your skills and ideas. Consider serving as a post 176 Officer. New “blood” will continue to move our post forward and your knowledge and skills may be of great value to our organization and rewarding for you.

Sincerely,

David R. Mruk
USAF Veteran

Our Mission

Our mission is to support Veterans and their military families; ideally wherever our members reside. While most members reside in Summit County, Ohio, we have many who live in surrounding counties, and even out of state. We’ll be developing methods to extend our capabilities to support our members and their families over the next several months. The first being, this new website!

Eligibility

Eligibility for membership in AMVETS is open to anyone currently serving in the national guard or reserves, on active duty, or anyone with an honorable discharge or separation under OTHER than DISHONORABLE conditions who served in the United States Armed Forces, or Coast Guard.

How to Join

Fill out the form below to submit an application for membership, and pay the fees. Our annual dues are $25.00. Life memberships are $187.50 and paid one time, not like other organizations where you pay based on some formula.

To pay here online, we use PayPal. PayPal charges fees, but the good news is that we were approved as a non-profit organization with PayPal in January 2019. That means that you’ll pay a smaller fee for convenience of paying here. That rate is 2.2% +.30 cents per transaction, instead of 2.9%+.30.
Please note, if you are here to renew your annual membership:
1) You MUST have been a paid member in the prior year.
Please NOTE: Look at your invoice from National. It will tell you what you owe. In some cases, folks have not paid their dues timely, and this means that records at National may show that you have a past due balance.
The First Vice Commander can help you resolve this. Please call his business line at 216.200.8762, and mention this article on the AMVETS Website. Bryan, will be eager to help!

2) Please select either of the Annual payment options below.

You should receive a plastic Membership ID card from National Headquarters within 10 days or so. When you receive confirmation from the First Vice Commander that your payment has been processed, then you are eligible for a key card for access to the Post.
